2026 Ohio River Sweep on the Hocking

A volunteer trash clean-up event along the Hocking River within the Athens City limits. Participants will be in small groups to cover a selected section of the river. Participants are asked to wear ‘closed-toed’ shoes, dress for the weather, and the possibility of sun exposure and high grass. Cotton gloves and trash bags will be provided and early registrants will get an event t-shirt. A signed release will also be required of all participants.

The event begins at 8:30 at the Community Center.

After the morning clean-up, participants are invited to join us in a free picnic-style lunch.
