The Athens Area Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the local business community in Athens County, Ohio. Since its incorporation in 1972, it has served as a resource for entrepreneurs and an advocate for the area's business interests.
The mission of the Chamber is to promote and provide value for its membership, foster economic development, and nurture a positive business climate in the region. We achieve this through:
Collaboration: Building partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and government entities.
Engagement: Creating opportunities for members to connect and build relationships.
Strategic partnerships: Collaborating with local institutions, including Ohio University.
The Chamber hosts regular and annual events to promote local businesses and foster community engagement, including:
Annual Awards Dinner and Gala: An event that recognizes businesses and individuals who have positively impacted the community.
Athens Area Women's+ Summit: An annual event for networking, learning, and personal and professional growth.
Celebrate Athens: A uniquely Athens event, raising funds to support the Chamber's mission with a lively live and silent auction, local food, and libations.
