About The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD): COAD was founded in 1971 with a mission to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in Appalachian Ohio. COAD provides direct services in 30 counties in Early Care and Education, Senior Corps, Weatherization and Energy Efficiency, and serves all 88 Ohio counties (and several other states) in its accredited Weatherization Training Center. COAD also operates as an administrative and advocacy hub for its 17-member Community Action Network, and as such offers many unique regional benefits including connecting a credentialed workforce with meaningful employment.
The COAD Pathways HUB brings together a network of agencies employing Community Health Workers (CHWs), who through the nationally recognized Pathways model help vulnerable members of our communities to navigate life’s challenges.
Position Summary: Working with the COAD Pathways HUB Staff to monitor data generated by the work of the CHW staff at our partner agencies. Aiding the staff with generating reports and researching population and health data. Some opportunities for community outreach and research.
List of Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with HUB Data Coordinator on data collection

Conduct research out of state and federal health databases

Develop content for COAD Pathways HUB website related to local health issues

Assist HUB staff at local outreach events

Assist HUB staff with field data collection
Desired experience, qualifications, and skills:
- Computer skills To be successful, an individual should have the ability to operate a computer, collaborative document programs and have some experience with Excel, and other database software. Familiarity with virtual content creation software and equipment a plus.
- Mathematical Skills Strong math and analytical skills a plus. Social science research experience important.
- Language skills Strong communication skills with people of all socio-economic levels both written and verbal.

The COAD Pathways HUB is a response to the growing challenges that our must vulnerable and at-risk populations – particularly those in poverty and minorities – face in maintaining their social, behavioral, and physical health. This initiative launched in late 2022 and in order to meet the challenges its faces requires the work of committed and dedicated community members.
Compensation:
- $3,375 total living allowance (amount approximate and will be updated when finalized)
- $1,300 Segal Education Award (amount approximate and will be updated when finalized)
- $500 Education Award Partial Match by Center for Campus and Community Engagement
- Mileage Reimbursement for all travel outside City of Athens, Ohio
