About
Monday-Friday from 8:00 am until around 12 pm
Meals on Wheels serves homebound seniors, age 60 and over, who live in Jefferson County. The program offers two types of home-delivered meals – hot meals delivered daily (Monday through Friday) and frozen meals delivered once weekly. Volunteers are needed daily to assist with preparing these meals.
Volunteers will generally be:
-Counting out beverages + sides
- Loading vehicles
-Washing dishes, sweeping floors, and cleaning the kitchen after meal prep is complete
-Assisting with basic tasks around the kitchen
Volunteers must complete the Volunteer Food Handler Certification before working in the kitchen. It is FREE of charge and only takes a few minutes. If you have any issues this video can be watched at our office at the beginning of your shift.
